Welcome to the official website of the Pittsburgh Society of Illustrators (PSI), one of the largest non-profit groups of illustrators in the nation. The Society brings local illustrators together to facilitate artistic and professional growth, advocacy for artists’ rights, and the comradery and promotion of our collective Pittsburgh talent. With an enthusiastic volunteer base, PSI maintains a lively schedule of regular meetups and special events designed to educate, engage, and recognize working illustrators and students alike.
The Collective Works of the Pittsburgh Society of Illustrators was exhibited at Oglebay Institute’s Stifel Fine Arts Center September 5 through October 26, 2019.
The exhibit featured more than 50 framed pieces from the Pittsburgh Society of Illustrators (PSI). Personal art as well as examples of illustrations applied to products present in our everyday lives are on display. The collection highlights traditional ways of working, alongside newer techniques and applications–demonstrating the spectrum of today’s modern-day illustration market.
PSI celebrated its 20th anniversary with an illustration exhibit at the Heinz History Center! Art of Facts | Uncovering Pittsburgh Stories was a juried selection of over fifty illustrated stories about Western PA history. With a focus on lesser-known narratives, the collection informed and entertained locals and tourists alike. The show ended in April 2018 but can still be viewed online here.
