Recent book-banning activities in a growing number of states remind me that such a heinous practice is a hallmark of repressive regimes and so I imagined books through the ages coming alive and fleeing to this 'Library Of Forbidden Books'. Though I am not the parent of public school-age child in any those states, I am terrified that children are being denied the expression of their natural curiosity in their selection of library reading materials by a 'well-meaning' school board or group of 'responsible' parents. What's next? Fahrenheit 451?
