Mark Bender has been recognized by Communication Arts Magazine and the New York Society of Illustrators. He has been included in the society's annual exhibitions and in Original Art, the best in children's book illustration. A member of both the Pittsburgh Society of Illustrators and the New York Society of Illustrators, Mark is also a full time faculty member of the Art Institute of Pittsburgh and has a master's degree in Illustration from Syracuse University.
Mark's elaborate illustrations have strong influences form advertising posters of the 1920's and 1930's, Folk Art, Cubism, Constructivism and Surrealism. His meticulously crafted images have been incorporated into advertising campaigns, annual reports, CD Jackets, children's books, murals and posters.
