Participants enjoyed Gallery Exhibits, Sales of Art Materials and Products, Speakers from the Illustrator's Society, and an optional Portfolio Review. Throughout the day there were 4 sessions, with Speakers from PSI. Lunch included. Click here for some local accommodations.

FUNNY BUSINESS with George Schill. Discover the humorous side of illustration with this American Greetings artist.

BUSINESS BUSINESS with Fred Carlson. The Pricing Game will strengthen your awareness of current pricing in today’s marketplace.

10:45 - 11:45 am SESSION B - Choice of One

BUSINESS BOOKS with Cliff Knecht. To have a rep or not to have a rep? Learn how an Illustrator’s Agent markets and matches your skills with the needs of prospective customers.

CHILDREN’S BOOKS with John Manders. The nuances of editing, writing, designing and illustrating are all part of the sophisticated language of the children’s book trade.

Q&A PANEL DISCUSSION with Mark Brewer (humorous), John Blumen (fantasy), John Manders (children’s), Phil Wilson (advertising and nature), and Ilene Winn-Lederer (editorial and book).

Portfolio Reviews with Karen Kohn (Ms. Kohn often finds new illustration talent to use throughout Carus Publications from portfolio reviews at national speaking engagements), Fred Carlson, Cliff Knecht, Mark Zingarelli, John Ritter, Rhonda Libbey, and George Schill. Show samples of your art and receive a valuable critique from industry professionals. An additional $10 fee is required for participation.

2:30 - 3:30 pm SESSION D - Choice of One

DIGITALLY SPEAKING with John Ritter. What do you get when you cross a printmaking skateboarder with a Photoshop design guru?

SELF PUBLISHING with Ilene Winn-Lederer. How do you publish and promote your own book?

NECESSITY…THE MOTHER OF REINVENTION with Mark Zingarelli. The artist reflects on his longevity and insecurities during a 34 year career as an illustrator/cartoonist and discusses strategies to reinvent yourself and your work in an ever-changing pop-culture market.
